TIP ONE: The Blow Dry Method.
For small bumps or creases in your dreads sometimes all it takes to straighten them out is to apply a little bit of heat and nothing more. You can do this with a hairdryer no problem.
Here’s what you can do to fix it – You may do this with or with out wearing your dreads (wearing your falls while blow drying is kind of useless cause you might pull them out….but anyway)…
This is generally what a dread looks like when it’s been tied in a knot too many times or worn too long in a knot.

What you’ll want to do is twist the dread appropriately in place.

Then simply take a blow dryer and apply near the directed area.

Hold it a decent distance away, I’m holding mine so far away because this particular blow dryer gets hotter than hell and I don’t want to melt my dreads. Too much direct and dry heat will cause your dreads to melt, so be careful not to touch the blow dryer to your hair.
TIP TWO: The Towel and Flat Iron Method
Keep in mind in these next pictures that this dread belongs to me, and my feet are clean, I in no way, use my feet while making customers dreads. Haha Anyway, now that that’s been cleared up. Here’s the next, and best tip for resealing your dreads.
What you’ll need: a bowl of water, a flat iron (no, a curling iron will not work, neither will a crimper), a small hand towel, and your messy dread.

Turn your iron on. Fold your towel in half and place it in the bowl of water.

Hold your dread between your toes (if you have an adversity to even your own feet, try a different way to secure it in place, clothes pins work.) Twist your dread back into place.

Ring out your wet towel and place it over the dread so it hangs over it like this: (remember to keep your dread twisted)

Now, take your hot flat iron and simply iron the area that the towel is in. The wet towel plus the hot iron will create steam underneath and seal your dread back in place.
