Our dreads are generally made to be very durable. However there are those out there that love to style their dreads in crazy ways, tying lots of knots in your dreads can sometimes cause bumps after long wear. There are a few easy things you can do so you don’t have to send them back to be resealed. Many customers won’t have this problem at all, but if you do,There is nothing that will seal your dreads better than heat with moisture, which is why the steam method is the best way to seal and reseal your dreads. Dry heat can cause your dreads to be very dry and brittle.

*** Keep in mind that certain methods will NOT work.  Do NOT use a hot air gun, like the ones used to strip paint and such.  Do NOT use the Volcano Vaporizor .  Again the heat coming from both of these items is entirely too dry.  Lastly, I’ve seen people try and reseal the ends of their dreads with fire, haha.  Please do not try to reseal your dreads with a lighter.  All these things are great for what they’re made for…Not your dreads. :) Be safe. Don’t burn yourself. And remember to check out this blog for more tips, hints, insight, and anything else related to iKandi Hair Design.
